Effective December 21, 2008, unless otherwise noted, allowances and/or post differential rates are revised as shown. These changes will be Part A of TL:SR-698.
Please inform local offices of all U.S. government agencies at the posts listed in this cable.
Important: Read this entire message as posts may be listed more than once. Changes are listed by allowance or differential rather than by post.
Taiwan has been included, when applicable, under arrangement with the American Institute in Taiwan.
The change in the Danger Pay Allowance for Kuwait is based on an updated Danger Pay Factors Form submitted by Kuwait.
The Post (Hardship) Differential changes for Bangladesh are based on a survey submitted by Dhaka. The Post (Hardship) Differential change for Kuwait represents reinstatement into the Post (Hardship) Differential analysis of risk / threat factors that had been part of the Danger Pay analysis prior to its termination (see above paragraph).
The Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) changes for Belgium, Guatemala and Spain are based on updated information on Living Quarters Expenditures submitted by the Department of Defense Education Activity, Embassy Guatemala, and the Department of Homeland Security, respectively.
The Post Allowance changes for Jordan, Samoa, Senegal and Trinidad and Tobago are based on Retail Price Surveys submitted by Amman, Apia, Dakar, and Port of Spain, respectively. All other Post Allowance changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 25 (December 11, 2008).
All Education At-Post Allowance rate changes are based on new information supplied by posts for the 2008/2009 school year.
