Effective January 3, 2021, unless otherwise noted, allowances and/or post differential rates are revised as shown. These changes are issued under TL:SR-1011.
Please inform local offices of all U.S. government agencies at the posts listed in this cable.
Important: Read this entire message, as posts may be listed more than once. Changes are listed by allowances type.
Taiwan has been included, when applicable, under arrangement with the American Institute in Taiwan.
The Office of Allowances is pleased to inform those in the field that the eAllowances system is now available on Office 365 My Apps under “OpenNet Applications.” Click on the OpenNet Application icon and scroll down to A/OPR/ALS and you will see a link to eAllowances. The Post Allowance (COLA) changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 26 (December 24, 2020).
The Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the Office of Allowances as of the Thursday of Pay Period 26 (December 24, 2020).
The Education “At Post” Allowance rate changes are based on updated information provided by Post for the 2020/2021 school year.
Effective January 3, 2021, with TL:SR-1011, the government-wide Standardized Regulations (Government Civilians, Foreign Areas), maintained by the Department of State (commonly referred to as the DSSR) are amended and include the following. Changes will be posted to the Office of Allowances’ websites on January 4, 2021.
--Extraordinary Quarters Allowance (EQA DSSR 138)
DSSR 138.1 Additional reason to authorize EQA based on COVID-19 restrictions
